As the saying goes, ‘All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy’. The hustle and bustle of working life may sometimes cause burnout when workload and pressure start piling up, and in some cases, stress and boredom, if the work is a fairly routine one. Either the case, the quality of work produced by the employee going through burnout will start diminishing, and perhaps even affecting customer service.
When the pandemic first started, most companies asked their employees to work remotely – and SAGAS was no exception. Now that the worst of the pandemic seems to be over, the company finally gathered again in person (this past September) for a companywide retreat where employee engaged in team-building activities and spend time together socially.
“Events like these not only play an enormous role in increasing motivation and team building skills, but also it’s a good time for individuals to take a breather from daily work routines, while further developing the company’s culture,” Tulus said. “We try not to over-schedule, which can increase someone’s burnout; if we can come out of the retreat making people feel refresh, more developed and connected, that alone is a great accomplishment for the company as a whole (team).”
